The Capricorn Coast is well provided with National Parks for both day visitors and overnighting and ranging through cool tropical rainforest, ocean beaches, rugged volcanic headlands to coral reef islands. Most of them are quite close to the populated coast and none are more than an easy hours drive, that is unless you go four-wheel drive adventuring out to Five Rocks and the campgrounds around Nine Mile Beach or mount an expedition to one of the Keppel Bay Islands for a few days where you can explore coral reefs, fish or laze about on the beach.
